Sound Sensor Module

A sound sensor module is used to detect sound intensity in the environment by converting acoustic pressure waves into electrical signals. It is widely used in projects that require sound detection, audio responsiveness, or acoustic triggering.

Key functional aspects:

• Sound Detection:
  Uses an electret microphone to capture sound waves and convert them into small analog electrical signals.
• Internal Signal Processing:
  These analog signals are processed through an onboard operational amplifier (often LM393 comparator) to generate either:
  • Digital output — indicates whether sound level exceeds a threshold
  • Analog output — provides raw sound amplitude (not available in all modules)
• Adjustable Sensitivity:
  A potentiometer lets users adjust the trigger threshold for the digital output.
• Output Behavior:
  • When sound exceeds set threshold → DO = HIGH
  • When sound is below threshold → DO = LOW
• Applications:
  Ideal for claps detection, noise monitoring, sound-triggered systems, home automation, and robotics.
