The TowerPro MG996R 360° is a modified version of the popular MG996R metal-gear high-torque servo. Instead of moving to a fixed angular position, the 360° variant rotates continuously in either direction, acting like a DC gear motor but controlled via PWM.
- A shorter pulse rotates it in one direction
- A longer pulse rotates it in the opposite direction
- A neutral pulse (~1.5 ms) stops the movement
Its powerful motor, metal gear train, and dual ball bearings provide high torque and durability, making it ideal for robot wheels, mobile robots, conveyor mini-systems, turrets, RC vehicles, and tracked robots. Since it behaves like a motor with electronic speed control, it is widely used in Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and robotics automation projects.
