  • Built-in 16-bit ADC (Analog-to-Digital Converter) for each channel with 16-bit digital output.
  • I²C digital output providing 6-axis or 9-axis motion fusion data (rotation matrix, quaternion, Euler angles, or raw data).
  • Selectable solder jumpers on CLK, FSYNC, and AD0 for flexible configuration.
  • Integrated Digital Motion Processing™ (DMP™) engine to offload complex motion fusion and gesture detection from the host processor.
  • Embedded algorithms for real-time bias and compass calibration — no user intervention required.
  • Built-in digital temperature sensor for real-time thermal monitoring.
Description
  • The GY-521 is a breakout board featuring the MPU-6050 — a 6-axis MEMS motion tracking device combining a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyroscope on a single chip.
  • It uses the I²C interface for easy communication with microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32.
The built-in DMP engine performs complex calculations, such as motion fusion and orientation estimation, directly on the sensor, freeing up processing resources.
  • Operating within 3V–5V, it supports both logic levels, making it suitable for a variety of projects and embedded systems.
    The module provides selectable measurement ranges for both accelerometer (±2g, ±4g, ±8g, ±16g) and gyroscope (±250, ±500, ±1000, ±2000 °/s).
  • Its compact size, low power consumption, and rich feature set make it ideal for robotics, drones, gaming controllers, wearable technology, and motion tracking systems.
