Description
- The BMP180 is a high-precision, low-power barometric pressure and temperature sensor from Bosch Sensortec. It provides precise pressure and temperature readings that can also be used to calculate altitude changes with high accuracy.
- The BMP180-BAROMETRIC-W module integrates this sensor on a breakout board, simplifying its connection to microcontrollers like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32. The board often includes level shifting and regulation circuitry for compatibility with both 3.3V and 5V systems.
- It measures atmospheric pressure over a range of 300 hPa to 1100 hPa (equivalent to altitudes from +9000 m to −500 m). Its integrated temperature sensor enhances pressure calibration for precise results.
- Due to its compact form and digital I²C interface, the BMP180 is ideal for applications in IoT systems, wearable devices, environmental monitoring, navigation, and weather forecasting.
